I have tried all of these for the last year, I have tried everything and I am a Veteran of Afghanistan from 2005 along with ISAF.  I cannot get a job, I have applied, done their resume setups, completed everything and all I have ever recieved back was that I am not qualified.  I am lost here I am a 31 year old ten year veteran with the Army and served honorably.  I have a wife and a child who live in Germany that I cannot see because I can't get a job here to move them in with me or make enough money to get back there and see them.  So I am living with my parents, if I did not have them I would be homeless.  I honestly do not know what to do anymore.  I have applied to everything here in Michigan and I can't get a single thing done.  Is this how Veterans are supposed to be treated who have given so much to come back to nothing?

i was born and raised in MI prior to joining the service. I am now in MA and talk to my family (still in MI) and it seems that the mid-west has been hit the hardest with the recent economic hardships. Are you willing to relocate? What was your MOS? What kind of jobs are you looking for, and are you willing to relocate?

Well, one other site that I did not see mentioned is craigslist. I have heard of many people who have found jobs on craigslist. In fact, some employers only post jobs on craigslist.

Check out http://www.veteranjoblistings.com/. Its kind of neat.
VeteranJobListings.com follows in the spirit of the open source software movement. Its a simple and free way for employers to post jobs for veterans.
There are some interesting jobs on this site posted by employers who are specifically interested in hiring veterans.

Best,

Hal
