Can I get medals my dad never recieved

Hello I finally got my dads records after 15 years. I have spina bifida and I'm going thru the spina bifida claim the last 15 years. I just finally got his records and found out he recieved many awards. in the box marked recieved it said no on some of them. can I ask for those? Also since he is dead and we havent seen his other medals can I ask for them too. he recieved a AFCM medal I would love to have since it was for his merrit in direct enemy contact. ty for any help

You can purchase medals off many sites, for example I found the AFCM here:

As far as applying for medals that he wasnt awarded that he may deserve, I would start with your town/city VA rep. Your city/town website (if they have one) should have a number or email for him. If not, head down to your town hall to find out who it is, or where the closest person that can help is.

You can try a local Army/Navy store also. They often carry military medals. I hope this helps.
